Jester Mask

This mask is one of my favorites. I'll upload a better photo or set of photos soon, as although this one is reasonably faithful to the color and general design, it doesn't show the elegance of the piece.

The WIP photo of the leather sculpt may be seen here. I love leaving WIP photos up, partly because I like to see those of others, and partly because it's interesting to see how a sculpt relates to a completed mask. This was a prototype design.

The swirls are done in a dimensional paint, painted over in metallic gold. The black is a solid gloss. The harlequin half is outlined in black gloss dimensional paint, made up of diamonds of burgundy, parchment, metallic jade and metallic gold shades. The bells are diecut sheet metal that I antiqued, and the burgundy jester's hood is done in a stain-style paint so as to show the detail of the wrinkles in the leather. The entire piece looked aged the moment it was complete, and I am still in love with it.
