Goblin Mask

Although here pictured unpainted, I decided to include this in my gallery rather than as a scrap because the painted version is impossible to photograph, I like how the leather shades itself naturally and gives a better impression of the contours of the mask, and because it's so new that I can't really yet see all the flaws in my design.

I was going to go clubbing with a friend in June and decided that because I didn't exactly have a costume in order, I'd come up with a mask to wear (in one day). This was the product. Knowing I'd probably have to go with a low-saturation red for the paint job to match my outfit (I did, with some copper accent on the horns), I decided to do a grotesque, something that would seem too big for my face, somewhat unpleasantly ugly. I KNEW I wanted a goblin mask at some point, and if I could design it then, I might as well get it done. Props to anybody who caught the Labyrinth inspiration - but don't misunderstand, nothing seen here is taken directly from the film, it's all mine.

But I do love this mask. (And it's comfy, too!) I've made some very minor revisions to the design, in order to give it more dimension, but I really love it as is. Anybody interested in owning one, contact me.
